ZAKA CONSTRUCTION achieved a significant milestone by successfully completing the delivery of a barge tailored for the fish farming industry in January of 2024, for our client KEFALONIA FISHERIES S.A, the shipbuilding took place in Chalkida.

This barge, measuring 23 meters in length and 10 meters in width, is equipped with a series of 12 silos, with total capacity of 300 tons, augmented by an additional 50 tons on the superstructure.

The feed within these silos is efficiently distributed through a network of four automated feeders, which operate in 48 distinct cages.

This design feature not only enhances operational efficiency but also contributes to the overall success of the client’s business operations.

A Focus on Safety and Efficiency

The construction of the barge was meticulously executed with a primary focus on safety. To safeguard against potential mishandling by personnel and adverse weather conditions, the vessel is constructed using reinforced steel sheets on its bottom, sides, and deck.

This robust construction not only protects the cargo but also ensures the safety of the crew.

Furthermore, the barge is designed to provide the crew with all the essential amenities required to perform their duties efficiently.
